| Rule Submission Title | Wheelchair Hybrid Play |
|---|---|
| USAP Board Vote | Disapproved |
| USAP Board Vote Reason | The focus of the wheelchair rules will be on accommodations for the wheelchair player, not restrictions on the other player. TDs of non-sanctioned tournaments have the ability to adjust rules to meet their needs |
| Existing Rule # | 12.A.4 |
| Proposed Rule Change | The abled bodied player cannot stepover the middle line. The only exception would be if they had to play a lob over the wheelchair player. |
| Original Rule Text | There is no rule. |
| Reasoning Behind Suggested Change | The wheelchair events are to spotlight the wheelchair player, not the abled bodied players. The wheelchair player pays their money to play in a tournament, league...just like players on their feet. It will give the wheelchair player more plays on the ball and make it more fun and competitive for them. |
