Suggestion for this proposed rule change:

4.K. Wrong Score Called. If the wrong score is called, the referee or any player may stop play before the return of serve to correct the score
(or before the ball becomes dead if no return of serve).
The rally shall be replayed with the correct score called. After the return of serve, play shall continue to the end of the rally and the score correction made before the next serve. After the return of serve, a player who stops play to identify or ask for a score correction will have committed a fault and shall lose the rally. A player who stops play after the serve to identify or ask for a score correction when the score was correctly called will have committed a fault and shall lose the rally.

I believe it's important to make this change because this rule has been applied inconsistently in situations where there is no return of serve, and this change would clarify the intent of the rule and how to correctly apply it.

Simple change that makes great sense and like Randi's adjustment.

This was my scenario at the US Open recently. The server served the ball into the net and then asked for a replay after I called the wrong score. This rule change would prevent the serving team from taking advantage of losing a point on their serve without a return of serve.

Maybe 'before the ball becomes dead' instead. In any case I support this modification, as the rule as it's currently interpreted seems to allow 'two bites of the apple'.
