Original Rule Text | 11.M. Shots Around the Net Post. A player may return the ball around the outside of the net post. 11.M.1. The ball does not need to travel back over the net. 11.M.2. 11.N. One There is no restriction on the height of the return, meaning a player may return the ball around the net post below the height of the net. |
Reasoning Behind Suggested Change | Rule 11.M. The around-the-net post (ATP) provides the stryker with an unfair advantage to hit the ball behind the receiving team or strike the receiving players with the ball. Thus the receiving team does not have the opportunity to return the ball. |
Scenarios In Which the Rules Applies | Rule 11.M. The around-the-net post (ATP) provides the stryker with an unfair advantage to hit the ball behind the receiving team or strike the receiving players with the ball. Thus the receiving team does not have the opportunity to return the ball. |
