Existing Rule #N/A
Proposed Rule Change
  1. Tournament directors should strive to secure indoor tournament facilities with a minimum ceiling height for major tournaments must be 39 feet above the floor of the court.
Original Rule Text

No current rule. This could be definitional.

Reasoning Behind Suggested Change
  1. There are currently no guidelines for minimum indoor facility ceiling height. There are so many variations between facilities for objects that are in play, replay or out of play. Standardizing the required ceiling height would be useful.
  2. With the increase in indoor sanctioned tournaments, it should be one component that is considered when securing a facility.
Scenarios In Which the Rules Applies

1. Any and all indoor tournaments and leagues.

2. Provides guidelines for tournament directors when securing a backup indoor facility when an outdoor tournament is being planned and a weather backup site is needed.
