USAP Rules Committee Vote ReasonThe change is not necessary. The generic term "officiating team's line call" is adequate since only the individuals who are authorized to do so will be involved in line calls.

Original Rule Text

6.D.12. After the completion of a rally, players may overrule a partner's line call, an officiating team's line call, or an opponent's "in" call to their own disadvantage.

Reasoning Behind Suggested Change

There are a few members on an officiating team (2024 new entry for definition of Officiating Team) that do not have a function in the match that allows them to rule on line calls.  This rule change specifically states who a player can overrule to their own disadvantage.
