Proposed Rule Change | Placement. The server must serve to the correct service court (the court diagonally opposite the server). The serve may clear or touch the net and must clear the NVZ and the NVZ lines. The serve may land on any other service court line. |
Original Rule Text | Rule 4.A.6 Placement. The server must serve to the correct service court (the court diagonally opposite the server). The serve must clear the net and the NVZ. The serve may land on any other service court line. |
Reasoning Behind Suggested Change | This is poor wording. The NVZ includes the NVZ lines.I completely agree. It was "insisted" that this be put in the rule wording because we had 2 certified refs say that the rulebook wasn't clear on this. Well, now it is. It would be better to state "and must clear the NVZ which includes the NVZ lines. |
