USAP Rules Committee Voting StatusFailed. 1) We'd be asking every single match to change the end of match procedure ( requiring all teams to sign the scoresheet) for a relatively rare occurrence. 2) This drastically reduces the amount of time that they identify an out of position error. 3) We don't want a referee error to substantially affect the outcome of the match 4) If passed, the change about referees correcting players out of position would address this.

The offending team can be faulted until the next serve occurs or prior to the score sheet being signed by both teams at the end of the match.

The offending team can be faulted until the next serve occurs or prior to the score sheet being returned to the tournament operations desk.

Reasoning Behind Suggested Change
  1. This gives both teams a chance to look at the score sheet and confirm the outcome.
  2. The score sheet becomes a final document when signed preventing any change.
  3. If there is a discrepancy it can be handled when both teams are present preventing any chance of having to go find the teams if it is decided that there should be a replay.
  4. The referee will have the confidence that both teams or players agree with their score sheet since it is signed and agreed upon conclusion of the match
