Reasoning Behind Suggested Change | When I started pickleball I played with at least five players out of 20 who used the paddle as a weapon to get me off the court because they didn't want to play with a newer player. I've been hit in the teeth (as I mentioned) in the nose, and the temple . This was shared on another pickleball group that I am part of. "To my Pickleball friends: Yesterday I had my fifth appointment after taking a pickleball in my eye a few weeks ago. The good news is the inflammation, cornea abrasions, and tears in my iris have healed. One small problem is that the pupil is not going to dilate like it should and that will be a permanent issue. That eye will be light-sensitive so I will need to wear sunglasses more often. The other not-so-good news is the pressure in my eye is still elevated. The compression from the hit has caused my eye's drainage system to clog (pigmentary glaucoma). I will be scheduled for laser surgery to poke some holes in my iris to allow drainage and relieve the pressure." |
