I support this change, as with other efforts to simplify the rules, and reduce references to situations which rarely, if ever, occur in actual play. I also support removing this scenario from any of the various player/referee tests, if they do in fact exist.

I agree with this rule change. The explanation is well worded and makes sense.

I agree with this rule change for the reasons the submitter and others stated.

Yes. This is a needed change and will have minimal real impact on play. Nets should NOT have enough space to put a paddle through (without touching net system) anyway. (Reminds me of that game from way back, "Operation".
This makes sense.

Current rules specifically prohibit certain types of contact — net, posts, opponents' court; and also prohibit crossing into a certain space, the plane of the net, with the 11.I.1 exception. To achieve its goal, the proposed rule may need stronger wording, specifically disallowing and faulting crossing the space under the net, since the reasons for barring the action are not intuitive. The connection between where a ball MUST travel and a paddle MAY travel is not likely to be well understood. It would also be helpful to add any compelling reasons for the change, such as fairness or safety.
