Rule Submission TitleClarity for Application of 6.C.4
Existing Rule #6.C.4
Proposed Rule Change

Provide clarity for the application of 6.C.4.  Spectators should not be consulted on any line call. The referee my issue a verbal or technical warning to a player for consulting spectators.

Original Rule Text

6.C.4.  Spectators should not be consulted on any line call.

Reasoning Behind Suggested Change

This addition to 6.C.4 provides the referee with a recourse if the rule is violated.  Until this point, the only procedure allowed to a referee (based on the wording) of the rule, was for the referee to say to a player, "Hey, you shouldn't do that."   This additional wording now (legally) allows the referee a recourse when it is violated.

Scenarios In Which the Rules Applies

A player consults a spectator on where a ball landed. The referee gives a verbal warning for consulting a spactator.
